Attempt to cheat money from the Paytm founder; Three arrested

New Delhi: Three were arrested for allegedly stealing information from the computer of Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the CEO of the online banking application, and demanding money as ransom. Three of the Paytm employees were arrested from Noida Sector five.

Sonia Dhawan, personal secretary of Sharma, Devendra Kumar, who worked in the administrative division and Sonia's husband Rupak Jain are in custody. Police are in search for the fourth accused in the case.

Sonia leaked  information  from Sharma's laptop and phone and demanded a sum of Rs 20 crore for keeping this information confidential. Vijay Shekhar complained to the police. The accused were arrested following the investigation on the complaint registered by Sharma.

The 30-year-old Sonia was working with Sharma since paytm was established in 2010. However, the company said in a press release that the leaked information contains only personal data of Sharma and all the customer data is protected with highest security.
