Maamaamkam: Producer betrayed, says director

Thiruvananthapuram:  Sajeev Pillai, director of the Mammootty film Maamaamkam alleged that he had been betrayed by the producer Venu Kunnappally and stated that what Mr. Venu had propagated was not the truth.

 

When the Producer’s demand on certain changes, even after the completion of 30-40 percent of the film and requires only three more schedules to finish it, in characters, background and movement of the screenplay had been denied since the heart of the story would be turned to some other way, he altered the screenplay with the aid of some directors from Andhra Pradesh. The cameraman as well as the technicians who have been associated with the film from the very beginning have been removed.

 

He also stated that for the Maamaamkam venture he had come with a working experience of more than a decade in Malayalam film industry.  Though the leaders of Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) had intervened in the matter they favored only to the producer, Mr. Pillai criticised.  In the meantime the producer has send a lawyer’s notice against him demanding an amount of 13 crores rupees as compensation.
