200 shanties burned down in Delhi fire accident

The fire broke out at about one o'clock in the morning. The 28 fire brigade units reached the spot around 1:15 am and brought fire under control. A woman was seriously injured in the fire.

New Delhi: Fire broke out in Delhi hours after the fire accident in a hotel in Karol Bagh. More than 200 shanties were burnt down in the blaze in Paschim Puri slum area during the wee hours of Wednesday .

The fire broke out at about one o'clock in the morning. The 28 fire brigade units reached the spot around 1:15 am and brought fire under control. A woman was seriously injured in the fire.

When the fire started to spread, the residents left their huts and run to safety. At least 17 people, including three Malayalees, lost their lives in the fire at Karol Bagh on yesterday morning.
