Pathanamthitta: After a long gap of four months BJP State General Secretary K Surendran who had been arrested and kept in jail when he visited Sabarimala during Mandalam festival, had his darshan at Sannidhanam.

He had reached Pandalam from Thrissur on Wednesday night and had his Irumudikettu filled at the house of Thiruvabharanam Guruswamy Kulathinal Gangadharan Pillai and reached Pampa at night. He had his darshan at the deity in the early morning and visited Tantri Kantararu Rajeevararu who in turn covered him with a golden shawl as a token of blessing.

Police had arrested Surendran on November 17 after charging a false case against him for protesting against breach of rites and rituals in Sabarimala. Subsequently, a series of cases, while participating in strikes and protests earlier, have been dug up and charged against him of which he was not an accused at all in many cases.

For obtaining bail in different cases, the police presented him different courts in Kerala and kept him for 23 days in jail.  Massive protests had emerged well against the vengeance of the CPM led Government.
