Srinagar: Four terrorists were gunned down by the security forces during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir early this morning. Two among them are believed to be the special police officers who have been reported missing since yesterday, officials said.

The operation was jointly launched by army, police, and CRPF in Pulwama in south Kashmir after they received information about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.

The terrorists reportedly belong to Jaish-e-Mohammed. The gunfight broke out after the terrorists opened fire at security personnel, forcing them to retaliate. Officials say three rifles have been recovered from the encounter site.

The other day terrorist had gunned down a soldier in Anantnag, who reached home to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr.
