New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he will hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir soon. People's representatives will be elected from the state itself, and the new chief minister will be their man, he further clarifies.

While addressing the nation Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that the BJP government has made a historic decision. Section 370 was a hindrance to the development of Kashmir which the government has taken away. The dream of Sardar Vallabhai Patel has been fulfilled by the government. The government aims to remove terrorism at the grass-root level. Article 370 was a breeding ground for terrorism and corruption. The repeal of this section will improve the quality of life of the people of Jammu. Narendra Modi was addressing the country following the repeal of Article 370.

An earlier report said he would address the country on Wednesday. However, this was postponed following the death of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj. The Prime Minister had last addressed the nation on March 27 with the announcement that India had acquired the satellite-capable missile technology.
